For those of you who'd like to keep up with what's going on with Charles, Mr. Kordel from the animal shelter he's at has already blogged about him in the shelter's diary on 31 Jan.
It's in German, so some of you might not be able to read it, but it says pretty much what I wrote about him anyway, except for the slight misunderstanding that Charles had been allowed inside the other people's house every once in a while, which is not true, he had NEVER been allowed inside, not even after he had been treated for fleas and whatever vermin (which was what they had originally told me, that the cat was allowed inside under the condition that he be treated for vermin and fleas), and not even with the horrible snow storms we had here.
And that the woman to whose house he had been coming called me yesterday and abused me, but that's what happens all the time when people feel it affects their pride that "THEIR" cat has been taken away from them (a cat they didn't even bother to name, or have examined, but all of a sudden it's "MY CAT!!!", even though it had been "THIS cat" all along).
So, it's all a matter of personal sensitivities rather than animal welfare.
Here he is, our dear Charles:
I hope it was okay to steal the picture from the shelter's website. :)
And thanks so much to those of you who sent me encouraging emails.
Terri, who is into dog rescue, says it can wipe you out emotionally, and that's pretty much what it does, I guess.
I so hope Charlie finds a good home.

ReplyDeletehe would be a good friend for my 2 tabby cats ^^
Hey, I'll bring him over if you want to. What's another 500 miles when he comes to a good place. :)

ReplyDeleteHe looks like a chap that I know well... But at least for that one I know that he's in very good hands... :-)
ReplyDeleteHey, I thought so, too!! Especially with the surrounding area, and the fact that the other bloke had already vanished there some time ago, jumping off the roof or something... ;)
ReplyDeleteThis one will find a good place, too, I am sure. The shelter is a great place, had never before heard of them, but it is really well run, and the man's very eager and efficient, it seems. I hope he finds a good home soon.
